20 hours every year

First year renewals (only 8 hours required): Over the counter, non-prescriptive substances – 4 hours; Evidence-based medicine – 2 hours; Cultural Competency – 1 hour; Suicide Intervention Training – 1 hour. Second year renewals: Pain Management Education – 7 hours; Cultural Competency – 2 hours; Suicide Intervention Training – 1 hour; General Continuing Education, which must include maintenance of BLS/CPR/AED certification – 10 hours. 3rd year and on: Cultural Competency – 2 hours; Suicide Intervention Training – 1 hour; General Continuing Education, which must include maintenance of BLS/CPR/AED certification – 17 hours.

All of the 20 required hours are allowed to be obtained online.
